Malachite

About this stone

Malachite is a banded green copper carbonate that the Egyptians ground into eye paint and the Russians carved into entire columns at the Hermitage. Astrologically it is a Venus-and-Pluto stone: as a copper-bearing mineral it belongs to Venus, but its work is Plutonic. It does not soothe — it surfaces. Useful in long therapy, in a relationship at a real inflection, when the choice is to face it or quietly leave.
